Li Sturesdotter

MD, PhD

Li Sturesdotter is a medical doctor with a degree from Uppsala University. Prior to relocating to Malmö, she completed her medical internship at a regional hospital in Ljungby. Since 2016, she has been employed as a resident in Radiology at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö.

She has been a Ph.D. candidate in Diagnostic Radiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University, since spring 2019. The focus of her doctoral research has been breast imaging, with particular emphasis on breast tumor features in imaging and their associations with tumor characteristics and prognosis in breast cancer. The projects included in her thesis involve both mammography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

In March 2026, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Tumor and Tissue Features in Mammography and MRI – Associations with Breast Cancer Characteristics and Prognosis.” Her main supervisor was Associate Professor Hanna Sartor. The opponent at the disputation was Associate Professor Ebba Lindqvist (Stockholm), and the chair of the disputation was Associate Professor Sara Alkner.
