Hanna Tomic
PhD, LUCI alumna
In 2020, Hanna Tomic received her Master’s degree in Medical Physics from Lund University. The idea for her master’s thesis, “Assessment of Mammography Screening Using Clinical and Virtual Data,” was developed within the LUCI research group.
Following her graduation, she continued to develop her research within the group and held a position as a project assistant. Since the beginning of 2021, she has combined her research activities with a temporary position as a Medical Physicist at Skåne University Hospital, where she worked with clinically related aspects of X-ray imaging.
In April 2026, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Virtual Trials for Breast Imaging: Dynamic Simulation of Breast Cancer Screening.” Her main supervisor was Associate Professor Predrag Bakic. The opponent at the dissertation was Professor Ehsan Samei (Durham), and the chair of the disputation was Professor Lars E. Olsson. Thesis: Available in LUCRIS
